Children's Safety is our Primary Concern!

The deadline to register your child, or children, (new AND returning students) for 2024-25 school year bus transportation without a processing period of 5-10 days, is Thursday, July 18, 2024. You may register for bus transportation through the FinalForms website: https://edgefield-sc.finalforms.com/.

IMPORTANT 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR INFORMATION FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

1.     Students are only allowed one pick-up and one drop-off address.

2.     No temporary bus changes are allowed. Students are allowed one bus change per school year (unless you have moved to a new address), and it remains in effect for the remainder of the school year. You must update your information in FinalForms and submit it to the school. There will be a 3-5 day processing time.

3.     If your student will be picked up/dropped off at an alternate location (daycare, for example), please fill out the caregiver form. This form remains in effect for the entirety of the school year.

4.     No student will be allowed to ride the school bus if the bus driver does not have the proper paperwork. Even if your child rode the bus during the previous school term, you must submit new paperwork in order to be eligible to ride the bus.

5.     Any student who has not registered for bus service by Thursday, July 18, 2024, will be subject to a 5-10 day processing period before they are allowed to ride the bus. This applies to new and returning students. This time frame is needed for us to be able to get the students approved for state safety requirements, communication with all people who support the specific route and need to communicate between departments and schools.

ADDITIONAL TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION:

-        Bus routes frequently change due to new students, new growth, etc. Your student’s stop is subject to change during the school year. Additionally, stop times may also change.

-        Our bus drivers are not permitted to have conversations with parents and guardians at a bus stop. Any questions or concerns will need to be addressed during a scheduled meeting. Please contact the ECSD Transportation Office by phone at 803-275-1776 if you need to speak with a supervisor regarding a bus driver, a bus stop or to schedule a meeting.

-        In the event of a bus breakdown or an accident, no parent will be allowed to come to the site and remove their student from the bus. We will assess the situation and, if necessary, an administrator from the appropriate school will come to the location to release the students. No bus driver is allowed to release students to anyone.

-        Students who participate in band and play an instrument larger than their book bag will need to schedule alternate transportation on days they need to bring their instruments home. No student will be allowed on the bus with any instrument larger than a book bag.

-        Students who are on crutches are not allowed to ride their regular bus until they are no longer using the crutches. Special transportation arrangements will be made for the students until they are off the crutches.

-        No balloons, glass, animals, dirt/plants, etc., are allowed on the bus at any time.
